We will be spending 15 days/14 nights in both the Mainland of Scotland and the Orkney & Shetland Islands.
Looking for a group flight into Aberdeen and out of Edinburgh
September 17 – Oct 1, 2024
Sept 16: Flight from the US into Aberdeen Scotland (group flight)
Day 1: Sept 17 – Fly into Aberdeen as a group, once you have made it through customs and retrieved your luggage, meet the coach outside and be ready for your fabulous adventure in Scotland! You will enjoy a city tour of Aberdeen, then possibly another location before we make it to our overnight location The Maryculter House – A welcome dinner will be included at the hotel this evening.
Day 2: Sept 18 – Today, it’s a day out in Angus – We will visit such places as Forfar, Blairgowrie, Glamis Castle, then make a stop in at the Gin Bothy, where you can taste some lovely gins and possibly buy a bottle or two! Back to our hotel for the night. Dinner is included at the hotel
Day 3: Sept 19 – We head north to Inverness via cruden bay, then onward to Elgin, before we end our evening in Inverness. We will be staying at the Best Western Palace. Dinner on your own
Day 4: Sept 20 – It’s a lovely day out today, we will be visiting the solemn Culloden Battlefield, then we will make our way to Loch Ness and an opportunity to check out Urquhart Castle. We will stop in Fort Augustus for a chance to grab lunch. Owared to a Distillery before we head back to our hotel. Dinner will be on your own this evening
Day 5: Sept 21 – Moving day, we continue north with a stop in at DunRobin Castle, then onward to Scrabster, where we will catch the late ferry to Orkney. We will dine at our hotel this evening in Kirkwall – The Shore Hotel
Day 6: Sept 22 – Our driver deserves a day off, so we hire another company (or driver) to take us out on a full day exploration of the Orkney Islands! Dinner on your own tonight
Day 7: Sept 23 – It’s another full day on the Orkney Islands, let’s go to the Highland Park Distillery, before we catch the overnight ferry to Lerwick on the Shetland Islands – We will give you a chance to grab some dinner on your own before we arrive at the ferry. They do offer sleeping pods, or a reclining seat, whichever is your preference.Day 8: Sept 24 – It’s an early arrival onto the Shetland Islands, we will explore Lerwick before we head out to see the wonder of this fabulous location. Hotel & Dinner TBD
Day 9: Sept 25 – It’s another full day out on the Shetland Islands – plenty of places to explore
Day 10: Sept 26 – Yet another day of exploration in Shetland, we will give you an opportunity to grab some dinner in Lerwick before we take the ferry back to the mainland. This is an overnight ferry again, so same options as before for sleeping arrangements.
Day 11: Sept 27 – It’s an early morning arrival in Aberdeen, we will head straight to Stonehaven, and at least a picture stop at Dunottar Castle, where we will give you some time to explore, then it’s onto Montrose, and Arbroath, where we can check out the Cathedral. It’s onto Dundee (or similar) for our overnight location. Hotel & Dinner TBD
Day 12: Sept 28 – We give you a chance to check out the V&A Museum, or the Discovery Ship, before we head south. It’s onto St. Andrews, Crail, & Dunfermline, where again we check out the Cathedral, then it’s onward to our hotel in Edinburgh, Apex Grassmarket – Dinner is included at our hotel tonight
Day 13: Sept 29 – It’s a full day out in the City of Edinburgh – enjoy the day, take the time to explore. Possibly a group vault tour tonight – Dinner will be on your own
Day 14: Sept 30 – We will head out to the Borders today to explore the quaint towns and villages, a stop at the Great Tapestry of Scotland in Galashiels is in order today. A visit to Rosslyn Chapel either before or after we explore the Borders is a must as well. We will be hosting a Farewell Dinner tonight at the hotel OR in a predetermined location.
Day 15: Oct 1 – We transfer you to Edinburgh Airport for your flight home. Thank you for exploring Scotland with us! Haste Ye Back!
