October 7-21, 2024

Oct 6: Depart the US to Manchester England (group flight)

Day 1: Oct 7, 2024 – Fly into Manchester (arrive as a group) Once you have your luggage and have gone through customs, we will make our way out, where our coach will be waiting to take us away. We will make a stop at “The Shambles York” on our way to Newcastle Upon Tyne, with more stops in-between. We’ll have a Welcome Dinner tonight Grey Street Hotel – Newcastle Upon Tyne

Day 2: Oct 8, 2024 – It’s a day out to Durham Cathedral, the enchanting Durham Cathedral was used as many parts of Hogwarts in the Philospher’s Stone and Chamber of Secrets. In the cloisters of the cathedral, you will see where Harry flies Hedwig in the snow on his first year, and the spot where Ron vomits slugs in the Chamber of Secrets. And the North Yorkshire Railway Goathland, a must-see in the celebrity station which became Hogsmeade Station in the first Harry Potter film and featured as Aidensfield in the ITV program Heartbeat. The charming village of Goathland is just a few minutes’ walk up the bank from the station, with a great range of shops and pubs., with time to explore the area,  then back to Newcastle Upon Tyne where you can grab dinner on your own.

Day 3 : Oct 9, 2024 – Today we head north with a visit to Alnwick Castle and Gardens. Alnwick Castle starred as the magical Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry during the 2001 Harry Potter and the Philospher’s Stone and the 2002 Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Also filmed on site:  Downton Abbey (2010-2015), Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004) and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002) From here up to Berwick-Upon-Tweed for lunch, then a stop at Eyemouth Beach before arriving at our hotel for the next 2 nights. The Carberry Tower Manor House. Dinner will be at our hotel tonight.

Day 4: Oct 10, 2024 -Driver Day Off – Take the train into Edinburgh, spend the entire day in the city (Harry Potter Tours are available to book yourselves or I can help with that. Possible group outing to a vault tour -separate cost) Dinner will be on your own tonight

Day 5: Oct 11, 2024  – We head off to Falkirk for morning coffee/tea. We will be gawking at the giant horse head statues, the Kelpies, and give you an opportunity to view the Falkirk Wheel, there will be time to do tours if you choose, at your own cost  – then it’s onto Allanwater Brewhouse for lunch, with time for a brewery tour, from here we stop in Crieff  before ending in Pitlochry for the night. Dinner will be at our hotel.  Atholl Palace Hotel – Pilochry

Day 6: Oct 12, 2024 –  Today is our day out in the Royal Deeside – Balmoral, Braemar, Blair Athol Distillery, dinner will be back at our hotel in Pitlochry 

Day 7: Oct 13, 2024 -Up to Inverness today, and we will give you  the city. From here it’s down to Fort Augustus for lunch and a stop at Urquhart Castle with time to explore. Onward to Spean Bridge, then we end in Fort William for the night. (hotel to be confirmed)

Day 8: Oct 14, 2024 – It’s our driver’s  day off – We take a walk to the train station, where we catch the Jacobite Steam Train, aka Hogwarts Express. It takes us to the village of Mallaig, where you can grab some lunch and explore the area before getting back on the train for our return to Fort William. Dinner will be on your own tonight.

Day 9: Oct 15, 2024 -We stop to get a good look and photo op of Eilean Donan Castle, after we take the Skye Bridge onto the Isle of Skye. We spend some time in Broadford, before we head to Portree, where our hotel is located.  Dinner will be at our hotel this evening. Skeabost Hotel – Portree Isle of Skye

Day 10: Oct 16, 2024  – It’s an all day tour of the Isle of Skye today. We will show you around the magical isle today, loads of beautiful scenery, nothing set in stone, just a day of exploring today. Dinner back at our hotel this evening. 

Day 11: Oct 17, 2024 – Take the ferry to Mallaig, then we drive through the Great Glen, where we can stop to hopefully witness the train crossing the viaduct. From here we travel west to the port town of Oban for the night. Dinner will be at the hotel (hotel to be confirmed)

Day 12: Oct 18, 2024 – It’s another island day today. We will catch the morning ferry to the Isle of Mull, where we will hopefully be stopping in at Duart Castle for coffee and tea. We will then travel the long road to the small island of Iona, where we park the coach, and catch the ferry. Walk onto Iona, where you can grab some lunch and enjoy the serenity of the  Island. Back to Mull as we make our way back to Craignere to catch the ferry back to Oban. Dinner will be on your own tonight.

Day 13: Oct 19, 2024 – We travel through the Trossachs, as we wind our tour down. We will be stopping to take a cruise on Loch Lomond, before ending at our City Center Hotel in Glasgow. Dinner will be on your own tonight. (hotel to be confirmed)

14: Oct 20, 2024 – You will have all day to explore the City of Glasgow. We will be here to offer information or join you for lunch. Tonight is our Farewell Dinner either at the hotel or a predetermined location. 

Day 15: Oct 21, 2024 – We will be sad you are leaving us today, we will have taxis available to take you to the airport for your return flight to the US.
