Tues Sept 8 : Flight from the US into Inverness Scotland (group flight)
Day 1: Wed Sept 9: – Fly into Inverness as a group, once you have made it through customs and retrieved your luggage, meet the coach outside and be ready for your fabulous adventure in Scotland! We will head for a visit to Cawdor Castle for coffee and treats. From here we make our way to our exclusive hotel. A Welcome Dinner will be included. (chef) (Nairn)
Day 2: Thur Sept 10 – Today, it’s a day out to explore the region. We will make our way to the Lighthouse Museum on the East Coast, spend time in Peterhead, before we make our way to Elgin and then back to the hotel. Chef to provide Dinner. (Nairn)
Day 3: Fri Sept 11 – Today we will explore Speyside. We will possibly stop at Culloden Battlefield,(if we did not stop on day 1) Nethy Bridge, Grantown-on-Spey, & Glenfiddich Distillery Back to the hotel for the evening..We celebrate with a Birthday Dinner tonight! (Nairn)
Day 4: Sat Sept 12 – It’s time to head into the Deeside. We make a stop at Huntly Castle, home of the seat of the Clan Gordon. From here we head into Ballater, & Braemar, then retrieve to our hotel for the evening. Dinner included at the hotel (Atholl Palace)
Day 5: Sun Sept 13 – We need to give the driver a day off today, so we will hire another driver to come and take his place, he gets to sit back and enjoy the ride today (although still guiding). Let’s head out into the Royal Deeside. Since we have a bit of a late start today, we won’t be heading out until approx. 9:45am. We will stop in for some delicious chocolate and coffee/tea first thing this morning. (they open at 10am). We will then head to the Thyme Bistro and Deli for lunch. From here we make our way to Glamis Castle for an afternoon visit and stop in at the Gin Bothy, before we go back to the hotel for the night. (dinner included at the hotel) (Atholl Palace)
Day 6: Mon Sept 14 – Today is moving day. We head out first thing in the morning and stop at Urquhart Castle before we end our day in Ullapool for the night. (Ullapool) Dinner included at the hotel
Day 7: Tue Sept 15 – We catch the morning ferry to the Isle of Lewis. It’s about a 3 ½ hour ride. Grab a coffee/tea, some snacks or just enjoy the ride over. Once we disembark, we will spend some time exploring a bit before we end the evening at our hotel. (Stornoway) Dinner on your own
Day 8: Wed Sept 16 – We will be hiring a local guide to join us today. It’s going to be a leisurely day, as we have the guide meet us at the hotel. They will take us around both islands (Lewis & Harris) to show us some more of the beauty here. Back to our hotel this evening. Dinner on your own (Stornoway)
Day 9: Thur Sept 17 – Today we have an early ferry off the island. Once we land, we make our way along the NC500. Stops include Smoo Caves in Durness and Dunnett Head to check out the lighthouse and the Farthest Point North on the mainland. We then land at our hotel. Dinner on your own (Thurso)
Day 10: Fri Sept 18 – We catch the ferry to Orkney this morning. We will spend some time exploring first, as we cannot check into the hotel until the early evening. Dinner on your own tonight (Kirkwall)
Day 11: Sat Sept 19 – Let’s give the driver another day off today. We will hire another coach or a couple of touring vans with guides, to take us around more of the islands. Dinner on your own (Kirkwall)
Day 12: Sun Sept 20 – It’s time to head off the islands today. We will take the morning ferry to Scrabster then make our way south to our airport hotel outside Inverness. We will stop in at DunRobin Castle and Dornoch on our way down to our airport hotel. Dinner on your own
Day 13: Tue Sept 21 -It’s our last full day in Scotland. Let’s enjoy some time out in Inverness-shire. Possible stops in Muir of Ord and The Black Isle. We will then head back to the hotel to freshen up and hire taxis to take us to our Farewell Dinner at our favorite night spot in Inverness. Back to the hotel for the evening.
Day 14: Wed Sept 22 – We transfer you back to the airport for your return flight this morning. Thank you for exploring the Northern Isles with me! Haste Ye Back
